David J. Smith

David  J. Smith, 70, of Emerick Road, Schellsburg, died, Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Smith was born in Roaring Spring, PA on April 11, 1950,  son of the late John A. and Fern (Veach) Smith.

He married Dora Ann (Miller) Smith on February 21, 1969, this coming February, they would have celebrated 52 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Anthony D. Smith, Schellsburg; Son- Adam T. husband of  Wendy (Seymour) Smith, Schellsburg; Daughter- Sarah A. wife of  Shawn Bender, Accident, MD; Grandchildren Alexander, Aaron finace Emily Stringer, Aubrey husband of Jozie; Avery fiance Erin Imler; Hannah, Isaac, Georgia; Brielle, Bristol, Brietta and Bridgette; Brother- Clifford Smith, Indianapolis; Sister- Donna Leppert, Bedford; Sister- Gloria Flowers, TN.  David was preceded in death by brother- Paul Smith

After 32.8 years David retired from Shawnee State Park where he was a Park Ranger.

Dave served his Lord first and then his country. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Smith was a member of Ryot Church of the Nazarene, Alum Bank.

Dave was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, Pastor Derrick Bender officiating.

Interment at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Military Rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
