David R. Wertz

David R. Wertz, 63, of Schellsburg, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA.

David was born in Erie, PA. on August 5, 1960, son of the late Russell and Freda (Miller) Wertz.

He married his wife Valerie M. (Snyder), on May 31, 1997.

In addition to his wife Valerie, he is survived by mother- Freda wife of Glenn Sides, of Manns Choice; son- Shaun Wertz, of Bedford; step-daughter- Heather wife of Mike Dively, Jr., of Claysburg; granddaughter- Madison Dively, sister- Rhonda Dively, of Bedford; sister- Cathy wife of Scott Fix, of TX; sister- Pamela Deasey, of New Paris; sister- Sandra wife of Mike Smith, of Bedford; brother- Earl Wertz, of Bedford. David was preceded in death by brother Russell Wertz Jr., and sister Connie Eshelman.

David was the owner and operator of Wertz Trucking for many years.

His granddaughter Madison was the light of his life.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 5-8 PM and on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 10-11 AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11 AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home with Rev Cheryl Ward officiating.

Entombment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford, PA.
