Mrs. Dixie L. Miller, 77, of Helixville Road, Schellsburg, died Wednesday, March 30th, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.

Mrs. Miller was born in Ogletown on Tuesday, August 9, 1938,  the daughter of the late Standford W. and L. Catherine (Gephart) Seese.

On March 6, 1959, she married James E. Miller.

In addition to her husband she is survived by Son- Kimmel P. husband of Drena (Closson) Miller, Alum Bank; Daughter- Eunice J. wife of Todd McCoy, New Paris; Son- Samuel R. husband of Lori (Miller) Miller, Schellsburg; Daughter- Ruth O. wife of Chris Priest, Decatur, AL; Granddaughter-  Chelsea wife of Justin Grace; Grandson- Kyle Miller; Grandson- Brandon McCoy; Grandson- Ethan McCoy; Grandson- Cole Miller; Grandson- Cody Miller; Granddaughter-  Isabelle Priest. Sister- Betty Thomas, Johnstown; Sister- Catherine "Kitty" Miller, Schellsburg; Sister- Judy Seese, Johnstown; Sister- Patricia Feaster, Bedford; Brother- Stanford W. Seese, Jr., Ogletown.  She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Miller.

Dixie was a member of the Ryot Church of the Nazarene where she was the longtime pianist.  Along with her husband, Dixie traveled extensively to South America and Europe on work & witness trips for the church.

She was first employed as a medical secretary at the Windber Hospital.  Dixie was then a salesperson for Electrolux Sweepers and was a teachers aide at both the New Paris and Schellsburg Schools.  She served as the Napier Township Auditor and was a homemaker.

Dixie was an avid reader.  For her, the most important things in her life were God and her family.  Dixie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held at Ryot Church of the Nazarene, Alum Bank at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 4th,  2016 with Pastor Kevin Davis officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
