Fred G. Bowser, 89, of Alum Bank, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in
Pittsburgh.
He was born on March 11, 1929 in Blair County, son of the late Calvin and Trella (Fleegle) Bowser.
Fred married Phyllis Y. (Oldham) 63 years ago on December 4, 1954.
He is survived by her and their 4 children, Fred W. and wife Carmel (Weyandt), Johnstown, Gloria and husband Irving Nicodemus, Alum Bank, Lemuel "Lemmy" and wife Karen (Welsh), Alum Bank and Brian and wife Yvonne (James), Alum Bank.
They have 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Fred is also survived by the following siblings; Blanch Smith - Montana, Fern Miner -Washington, Lucy Long- Imler and Raymond - Kansas.
He was preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Elwood, Roy, Chester, Lem, an infant brother Lester and a sister Mable.
Before retirement, Fred worked as a mechanic for Shaffer Motors in Cessna for 37 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved gardening and had a special, little buddy, Tiny (his dog).
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 25th at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville with Pastor Andrew Taylor officiating. Interment at Mock Cemetery in Alum Bank.
Friends will be received Tuesday, July 24th from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Funeral Home.
