Gary P. Wissinger

Gary P. Wissinger, 72, of New Paris, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona.

Gary was born in Bedford on May 22, 1953, son of the late John and Etta (Weible) Wissinger.

On February 2, 1974, he married Edna (Shaffer) Wissinger, of New Paris.

He is survived by daughter- Melissa wife of Matt Smith, of Alum Bank; brother- John Wissinger Jr, of Alum Bank; along with seven grandchildren: Adam, Aaron, Anthony, Zachary significant other of Anjela, Travis, Uriah significant other of Lillian, Tori, and two great-grandchildren: Alexis and Caelum. Gary is preceded in death by daughter- Tina Gutshall and siblings: Robert Wissinger and Thelma Blankley.

Gary was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and at the Chestnut Ridge Bow and Gun Club. Gary was also the Mayor of New Paris for numerous years, and worked at Hedstrom for 35 years and at JLG for 12 years.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
