George A. McIntyre

George Arthur McIntyre, 78 of Old State Road, Bedford died Sunday March 24,2024 surrounded by his beloved family.

Mr. McIntyre was born in McKeesport, Pa on September 19,1946, son of the late George W. and Marie (Brady) McIntyre of McKeesport, Pa.

On October 6, 1981 George married his wife Shirley D. (Hillegass) McIntyre, who proceeded him in death on February 20,2020.

He is survived by Son-Kevin Shomo Sr. husband of Theresa Shomo, Bedford, Son- Kenneth Shomo, Meadville, Pa, Son Melvin husband of Virginia Shomo, Everett, Grandchildren Missy, David, Elpidio, Daniel, Alisha, Keeshawn, Mya, Ashley, Margo, Kevin Jr., Kaylee, Tyler. Great Grandchildren Adrean, Peyton, Ellianna, Davina, Adalynn, Laraina, Eli, Kaden and many more. Brother- Steve McIntyre, Erie, Pa; James McIntyre Boston, Pa; Sister- Katherine Ludwick, Liberty Boro, Pa; Sister- Rose Marucci, Grindstone. George was preceded in death by son Christopher Shomo, Daughter- Cynthia Williams, Daughter- Donna Day, Brother John McIntyre, Brother Thomas McIntyre, Brother William McIntyre, sister Helen Coulter, Grandson Eric Williams and Great grandson Andre' Ramirez.

George was a roofer and painter and siding mechanic who enjoyed cooking for everyone family gatherings, and spending time with the grandkids. George joined the marines at 17 and served 4 tours at Vietnam he served from 1964-1970.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Bedford.

Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford.

Military rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
