Gertrude M. (McCready) Fleming

Gertrude M. (McCready) Fleming, 90, of Manns Choice, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford, PA.

Gertrude was born in Newry, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1933, daughter of the late Walter and Cornelia Mae (Walter) McCready.

On August 16, 1958 she married her husband James B. Fleming, who preceded her in death on August 25, 1986.

She is survived by son- James David Fleming, of Manns Choice; son- Michael Eugene Fleming husband of Angela, of Milton, DE.; daughter- Susan Marie Dibert wife of Scott, of Bedford; granddaughter- Ashlee Knaub fiancé of Tony, granddaughter- Michelle Workman wife of Josh; grandson- Riley Dibert, granddaughter- Jessica Dibert and great-grandchildren Kennady and Harper Workman; and siblings Virginia Stiffler, of Martinsburg; and Fred, Elvin, and Danny McCready, of Hollidaysburg.  She is preceded in death by siblings: Dennis, Don, Charles, Gerald, Wayne, Dean, Ronald, Harold, and Phyllis.

Gertrude was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in New Baltimore. She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in the class of 1951, and from the Altoona Vo Tech as a certified Healthcare Nurse.

She retired from Community Nursing Associates. Gertrude enjoyed word searches, puzzles, reading and helping at the church.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 11 AM-2 PM at Mickle Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 2:30 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore.

Interment will be at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gertie’s name can be made to the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire Company: 526 Juniata St. New Baltimore, PA 15530.
