Mr. Guy E. Ferguson, 77, of Dogwood Lane, Manns Choice, died at 8:46 PM, Saturday, March 19th, 2011 at Conemaugh Medical Center, Johnstown.

Mr. Ferguson was born in Spring Hope, PA on September 5, 1933,  the son of the late Hazel Ferguson.  He was raised by his grandmother, the late Bessie Ferguson and his aunt and uncle, Stanley and Fern Snavely of Bedford.

On January 4, 1955, he married Norma G. (Claycomb) Ferguson.

In addition to his wife and aunt and uncle, he is survived by Son- Gregory E. Ferguson, Manns Choice; Daughter- Norma Jean Ferguson, Ebensburg Center; Son- Stanley J. husband of  Karen (Price) Ferguson, Schellsburg; Son- Rodney Lynn husband of  Jo Ann (Imgrund) Ferguson, Manns Choice; Son- Jerry L. Ferguson, Manns Choice; Daughter- Carol Ann wife of  Craig Shaffer, Manns Choice; Son- Stephen Roy Ferguson, Bedford; Grandson- Christopher Ferguson, Manns Choice; Grandson- Joshua husband of  Stefany (McCluccas) Ferguson, Johnstown; Granddaughter-  Lindsay Ferguson, Pittsburgh; Granddaughter-  Kendall Ferguson, Bedford; Granddaughter-  Jessica Shaffer, Manns Choice; Grandson- Stephen "Drew" Ferguson, Bedford. , and two great grandchildren, Mason Mentzer and Abby Ferguson Guy is also survived by the following half-brothers and sisters, Jerry Price, Richard Price, Jim Price, Don Price, Barbara Armijo and Betty McCarter

Guy was a graduate of Schellsburg-Napier High School.  He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Manns Choice United Methodist Church.  Guy first worked for Blackburn -Russell Company in Bedford as a salesman.  Then, in 1965, he opened Guys Hardware in Manns Choice and owned and operated the store for 45 years.

Guy was the chairman of the Bedford County Democratic Committee for over 30 years.  He was a Presidential delegate at the Democratic National Convention and served on the local Bedford Civil Service Draft Board.  Guy also served as a county auditor.  He was a 50 year member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM, a member of the Harrisburg Consistory and a member of the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona.  Guy was also a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113, the Oscar Jordan Post of the VFW in Hyndman and the Buffalo Rod and Gun Club.

A Funeral Service will be held  at Manns Choice Church of God, Manns Choice, PA. at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 23rd,  with Rev. Richard Whetstone officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Manns Choice.  Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2:00 - 9:00 PM at the Manns Choice Church of God.
