Guy R. Mack, 97, of 220 Donahue Manor Road, Colonial Courtyard, Bedford, PA, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. Born May 17, 1928, on a farm near Armagh, PA, a son of the late D. Raymond and Viola (Stutzman) Mack. He moved to Everett, PA, in 1945 and graduated from Everett High School in 1946. He worked in grocery stores and was attending Pitt University until drafted into the Army. Served in the 656th Topographic Battalion in Germany from 1951 to 1953.
On June 25, 1953, he married Ruth Fletcher at Shreves Chapel, Clearville, PA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son- Douglas G. Mack, Richmond, VA; and Eddie V. Mack and Marie Mack, of Seminole, FL, sister- Helen Fetter, Aberdeen, MD, and sister-law Sally Mack, IN.
Guy worked as a Turnpike Toll Collector, Insurance Agent, Auto Salesman, and retired from the Everett Post Office after serving as a Rural Mail Carrier for 30 years.
Guy was a 70 plus year member of the American Legion. He served 43 years at Everett Post #8 where he was the 1975 Commander and 26 plus years at Bedford Post #113. He was a Life Member of Everett VFW Post 2088. He was a Life Member Bedford Elks #1707 and a member of the Bloody Run Social Club of Everett.
Guy was a member of the Everett Fire Company since 1954. He served as an Assistant Chief for 14 years and was on the Building Committee for the present building dedicated in 1971.
Guy and Ruth loved to spend time at the beach, from Maine to Key West. They also enjoyed the camaraderie of visiting over 1500 Veterans and Fraternal Clubs.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing, a private graveside service at the convenience of the family.
Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
