Harold "Hap" E.
Miller
March 3, 1943 – May 2, 2026
Harold "Hap" Eugene Miller, 83, went home to be with the Lord after a brave battle with cancer, on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was born on March 3, 1943 in Pocahontas, PA, son of the late Harvey A and Mabel (Dress) Miller.
He is survived by his wife Donna (Amick), married on June 13, 1964; three daughters, Bobbi McGee (Ron), Kelli Yutzy (Kevin), Terri Hopkins (Greg); sisters: Betty Albright, Thelma Triplett, Lois Boyer; brother Paul Miller. He is preceded in death by an infant brother, sister Sylva Summers, and grandson Drew Diehl. He was the proud pappy to 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and loved by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In the early 1950's, the family moved to Schellsburg and built Shawnee Park Motel. He graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School where he was the quarterback for the 1960 undefeated Lions Football team. He married and moved his family to Meyersdale in 1970 where he operated a trucking company which led into forming 4-Guys Stainless Steel Fire trucks. Hap was an accomplished entrepreneur and had several businesses with his wife and daughters.
He moved back into the area in 1987 where he remained until his death. He was an avid hunter and fisherman which took him to Alaska, Canada, and Florida for his trophies and catches. He grew a passion for golf and enjoyed playing with his close circle of friends in Bedford and in Florida. He was a 50-year mason, Shriner, and a member of Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church. He felt his belief in God was what had formed his steadfast devotion to adhering to Bible Principles.
At the request of the family, a private funeral service will be held by Pastor Daniel Oldham.
Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.
A special thank you to Dr. Sbeitan for continued care and Hap's close friends who kept him in good spirits.
