Helen N. (Miller) Winegardner

Mrs. Helen N. Winegardner, 92, of Valley Road, Schellsburg died Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at Donahoe Manor.

Mrs. Winegardner was born in W. St. Clair Township on Friday, July 13, 1923,  the daughter of the late Guy S. and Katherine (Seese) Miller.

On June 24, 1944, she married Richard G. "Dick" Winegardner.  He preceded her in death on November 10, 2009.

She is survived by  Son- Fred W. Winegardner, Boston, MA; Daughter- Kathy A. Madrick, Alexandria, VA; Grandson- Jason R. Madrick.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe R. Miller and Fred Miller and by her maternal grandparents, to whom she was very close, James and Daisy Pearl (Kimmel) Seese.

Helen was a homemaker.  She was a member of the New Paris United Methodist Church where she was a Lay Speaker and taught Sunday School to both children and adults.  Helen was an avid reader of her Bible and was a mentor to many.  She enjoyed traveling and went on missionary trips to both Haiti and Arizona.  Helen was a woman of great faith and a loving mother, grandmother and friend.  She will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at New Paris United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 with Pastor Doreen Griffith officiating.

Interment will be held at  Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 12:30 until the time of the service.
