Janet E. Leigey

Janet E. Leigey, 55, of New Paris, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.

Janet was born in Centre County, on February 23, 1968, daughter of the late Patrick and Olive (Lutz) Leigey.

Janet shared her life through the Skills Program with her caregiver Joyce Kauffman and buddy Wayne Guyer in her home in New Paris.

She is survived by siblings: Robert Leigey, Ruth Berkey, Connie Leigey; and 14 nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by siblings: Anna Leigey, Patty Leigey, Bonnie Leigey, Dan Leigey, and Dave Leigey. Including a very special niece "Kay Kay" who she enjoyed talking to on the phone.

Janet enjoyed coloring and giving her pictures to many; going out to eat and her Mt. Dew shopping at the Dollar Store. She liked going to Focus with Erica and Lisa, to the Prothonotary's office, Sheriff's office and the Senior Center. She enjoyed watching Little House, The Waltons and her man Walker Texas Ranger. Anywhere she went, everyone enjoyed seeing her and made their day, especially the Sac Shop when she would see Reuben Truck there. She was Loved by many with her contagious smile and hugs she will be a special angel.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Mickle Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 7 PM at Mickle Geisel Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Oldham officiating.

Interment will be at Stone Church Cemetery, Fishertown, PA.
