John Richard Bumbarger

John Richard Bumbarger, 72, of Manns Choice, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his home in Manns Choice

John was born in Bedford on February 8, 1951, son of the late Richard C. Bumbarger and Alice (Crissey) Bumbarger Menges.

He is survived by son- John R. Bumbarger II husband of LaVon (Smith), of Colorado Springs, CO.; daughter- Beth M. Fungaroli, of Myrtle Beach, SC.; grandchildren: Andrew Bumbarger, Paula Bumbarger, Bailey Fungaroli.  Sister, Anna (Bumbarger) married to William Ickes of Osterburg and their daughters Kathy Swartz and Kelly Whitmer.

John was a member of Milligan’s Cove Christian Church, Buffalo Mills.

He was the owner/operator of the Sunoco Service Station on Rt. 56, for numerous years. He was a mechanic, farmer and real estate investor.

From an early age, John developed a deep appreciation for nature.  John was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and enjoyed sharing his passions with his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours hunting and exploring the world around him.  He took great pride in his marksmanship and harvesting mature bucks over his life time.  He was a certified mushroom expert in numerous mushroom clubs in Western Pennsylvania.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
