Kenneth W. Porter, 78, of Rainsburg Borough, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona.

Ken was born in Bedford on October 1, 1947, son of the late William W. and H. Evelyn (Shoemaker) Porter. On June 2, 1967, he married his wife Joan (Hixon) Porter, of Bedford. 

He is survived by two daughters: Ginger wife of Daniel Clark, of Oakland, MD; Ginnifer Porter Johnson significant other of Scott Diehl, of Cresson; three grandchildren: Andrew Clark, of Frostburg, MD; Jared (Alexis) Johnson, of FL; Justin Johnson, of Cumberland, MD; and one great-grandson - Kane Johnson, of FL. 

Ken worked in the office at Kennametal and retired after 39 years as the Material Manager. In his younger days, he was a fast pitch softball player and enjoyed watching baseball. Ken was a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman. Fall turkey hunting was his passion. He was an excellent clay sporting marksman and his love of the outdoors was a great joy to him and he cherished his 10-mile walks on the mountain. Ken was blessed with a very long retirement and spending time with his wife Joan.

At Ken's request there will be no funeral service.
