With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Larry "Rookie" Habinyak, who transitioned from this earthly life into Heaven on October 7, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Pam, who passed away one year earlier. Their enduring love was a beautiful testament to a lifetime spent together, and we find comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
Larry was born on January 26, 1953, in Bedford. He married the love of his life, Pam (Welsh) Habinyak, on October 19, 1974, beginning a journey together that spanned five decades.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Nick Habinyak and Mary (Delancy) Habinyak; his sisters, Jean Habinyak, JoAnne Shoopman, Donna Graham, and Linda Paul; his brother, Nicky Habinyak; and his nephew, Ryan Habinyak.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Angie Davis of Harrisburg, PA; his grandchildren, Demeshia Morrow (Davis), wife of Zack, of Harrisburg, PA, and DJ Davis, whose significant other is Gisel Smith, of Harrisburg, PA; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Zuri Morrow, Kai Morrow, and baby Davis on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Habinyak, husband of Jean, of Martinsburg, PA; John Habinyak of Schellsburg, PA; and Gary Habinyak of Schellsburg, PA, along with many cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A kind, generous, and caring man, Larry treasured time with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offering his time and support whenever someone was in need. His warmth, friendship, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
An avid outdoorsman, Larry had a deep love for hunting and made numerous trips out West in pursuit of elk. He treasured not only the adventure but also the beauty of the outdoors and the memories made along the way.
Larry had a love for gardening, sharing the fruits of his hard work with those around him.
Larry was a devoted Pittsburgh sports fan who cheered on the Steelers and Pirates. He was also a proud member of the Pleasantville VFW, Buffalo Rod & Gun Club and New Baltimore Sportsmen Club, where he valued those lasting friendships.
Above all, family was the center of Larry's life. The laughter, love, and memories he shared with those closest to him will remain in their hearts forever.
Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we find peace in knowing that Larry is now at rest and reunited with his beloved Pam. We are forever grateful for the life he lived, the love he gave, and the memories he leaves behind. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and friendship will live on in all those who knew and loved him as "Rookie."
