Mr. Lawrence B. Hill, 89, of Homewood at Martinsburg, died Saturday, May 21st, 2016 at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.

Mr. Hill was born in Minot, ND on Sunday, October 10, 1926,  the son of the late Thomas B. and Mina (Card) Hill.

On April 15, 1948, he married Marilyn W. (Williams) Hill at the Pittsburgh Fire House.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Kathy wife of Jack Monsour, Bedford; Daughter- Diane wife of Larry Palmer, Valley Forge. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Eliza, Jackson, Burton, Matthew & Allison, and four great grandchildren, Ty, Mati Jean, Johnny Jay & Quinn. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Burkhart.

Mr. Hill was a member of the St. Geroge Orthodox Church in Pittsburgh.  He served in the US Navy during World War II.  Mr. Hill was a photographer, owning and operating the Lawrence Studio.  He was devoted to the care of his wife, Marilyn and in 2012, he moved from Bedford to The Homewood Retirement Center to be close to her.  Larry was a man of great integrity, generosity and was always a gentleman.  He was a loving husband, father & grandfather and he will be greatly missed

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 26th,  2016 with The Very Reverend Father Joseph Gereige officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
