Saturday
Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc., Bedford
2:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Lawrence L. Karns, 68, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Lawrence was born in Bedford on April 12, 1958, the son of the late Roy and Louella (Furman) Karns.
He is survived by his loving son, Joshua (Meghan) Karns of West Mifflin; his stepson, Ed (Amanda) Karns of Florida; three cherished grandchildren: Gauge, Cashden, and Cruize Karns and his siblings, Anna Karns, Roy (Debbie) Karns, Mike Karns, and Tim Karns. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his siblings Leroy, Ed, Janet, and Kathy.
Lawrence was a hardworking landscaper who took great pride in working with his hands and spending his days outdoors. He appreciated the simple things in life and found his greatest happiness surrounded by nature, family, and friends.
He had a lifelong love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending as much time outside as he could. One of his greatest passions was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, taking the scenic route and enjoying the freedom of the open road. Lawrence also loved spending weekends at the racetrack with his brothers, where they raced together and made memories that would last a lifetime. Whether he was tending the grill for family and friends or sharing stories around the track, he always made sure everyone was well-fed and having a good time.
Lawrence had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for making people laugh wherever he went. He was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and someone who genuinely enjoyed bringing smiles to those around him. His family meant everything to him, and the love, guidance, and laughter he shared with them will never be forgotten.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Lawrence's legacy lives on through the countless memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 2-4 PM at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Bedford.
