Lois Jean (Burkett) Berkey

Lois Jean Berkey, 89, of Church Road, Imler, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at UPMC Bedford, Snake Spring Twp.

Lois was born at home in Pavia on June 16, 1933, daughter of the late Clarence T. and Selma (Mock) Burkett.

On June 5, 1951, in Cumberland, MD she married Russell L. Berkey. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2014.

She is survived by daughter- Marla wife of Jim Davis, Pavia; daughter- Wendy wife of Bobby Townsend, Sidman; daughter- Debbie wife of Kelvin Martin, Alum Bank; daughter-in-law- Marie (Bazzoli) Berkey, Windber; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and sister-in-law- Marian Burkett, Osterburg. Along with her parents and husband- Russell Lois was preceded in death by son- Kerry Berkey, brothers- Wilbur Burkett and wife Aleen, Bobby Burkett and wife Miriam, Darl Burkett and first wife Catherine, brother-in-law Homer Berkey and wife Nelda, father-in-law- Elmer Berkey and mother-in-law- Flornece (Rouzer) Berkey.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Reformed Church, Pavia.

Lois enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, playing Bingo and she loved babysitting and babysat a lot of her grandchildren. She was an amazing lady who touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 2-6PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Alum Bank.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Reformed Church, Pavia with Pastor Tim Mock officiating.

Interment at Pavia Cemetery.
