Marian Mae (Harclerode) Imler, 94, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Marian was born on April 9, 1923 at home in Belden,  the daughter of the late John Franklin Harclerode and Lottie Mae (Fletcher) Harclerode.  She attended Bedford High School.  Marian was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

She and her mother, Lottie, kept the family farming operating while her four brothers served in WWII.  After high school, Marian went to work at Blackburn-Russell Wholesale.  Later she would go onto a long and successful career with Avon.  Over the years, Marian won many state and national awards as an Avon District Manager.  She was active in the Bedford County Grange and the Loysburg Lioness.  Marian’s crafts won many prizes at the Bedford County Fair and the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

When Marian moved to the Presbyterian Cottage in 2003, she continued her knitting and crafts for the residents and employees of the Presbyterian Home; as well as, serving special meals and treats for the residents and working in the beauty salon.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, John Raymond and wife, Olive; Joseph Edward (infant); Lee Wilmont and wife, Sis; Howard Charles and wife, Marlyn; and Donald Franklin; and daughter, Marlene.

Surviving are nephews, Howard (Skip) and wife, Judy; Philip and wife, Marie; Lee and wife, Jerri; Larry and wife, Nancy; a niece, Debbie; sister-in-law, Louise and a granddaughter, Michelle Lange.

A private service was held.  Donations in Marian’s name can be made to Bedford Presbyterian Church, PO Box 7, Bedford, PA  15522 or Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Medicine Development, Attn: Thomas White, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA  19104; In Memory of Marian Imler designated for Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
