Mrs. Norma J. Diehl, 90, of Manns Choice, formerly of Wilson Avenue, Baltimore, MD, died Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Diehl was born in McKeesport on September 19, 1927,  the daughter of the late William and Ottilie (Erhardt) Stickel.

On December 24, 1949 in Pittsburgh, she married George E. Diehl, Sr.,  He preceded her in death on November 17, 2014.

She is survived by  Son- Roger husband of Patricia Diehl, Manns Choice; Son- George Diehl, Jr., Washington State; Son- Greg husband of Dawn Diehl, Baltimore, MD; Granddaughters- Rose Marie, Patricia Kathleen & Ashley Elizabeth; Sister- Carol wife of Danny Palicka, New Staton; Brother- Reed husband of Patsy Stickel, Centerville; Brother- Dale husband of Elenor Stickel, Centerville; Special Niece- Ottilie Linden, Greensburg and many other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Norman "Dutch" Stickel, brother, William Stickel and sister, Katherine Engster.

Norma was of the Lutheran Faith.  After finishing high school, she attended the McKeesport Nursing School, graduating in 1948.  Norma worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals in the Baltimore Area until she and her husband started their family.  Always passionate about nursing, Norma was a source of guidance and knowledge to her family, friends and neighbors when they had concerns or questions about their health.  Norma loved to cook and was very talented in the kitchen.  She utilized her cooking skills to supply homemade goodies to her friends and family.  Norma was an amazing listener and offered her friendship and love to anyone who needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk things through.  Most people knew Norma loved to fish.  She most enjoyed the time she could spend on Chesapeake Bay, fishing with her family and friends.  Norma was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at Noon on Friday, October 20th, 2017 with Rev. Raymond Beal officiating.

Interment will be held at Woods Church Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 10:00 AM - 12 Noon at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
