Ray E. Hyde, 95, of Glade Pike, Manns Choice, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24th 2021 in Bedford County.
Mr. Hyde was born in Manns Choice on June 8, 1925 in the home he resided until the last three months of his life, he was the son of the late Calvin and Carrie (Holler) Hyde.
On June 3, 1953 Ray married Mary C. (Turner) Hyde. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2010.
He is survived by Son-Carl A. husband of Penny (Crocker) Hyde, Glade Pike, Manns Choice; Grandson- Wesley husband of Diana (Muller) Hyde; Step-grandson-Joseph Crocker and wife Jessica, Great-grandsons- Austin and Isaiah Crocker, Fishertown; Son- Wayne E. Hyde and fiancé Diane L. Dull, Tulls Hill, Bedford; Son Larry O. husband of Stephanie (Grine) Hyde and granddaughter-Vanesa R. Hyde, Glade Pike, Manns Choice and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a life-long farmer starting with dairy farming and then converting to beef farming when he was 65. At 91 years old Ray was still helping to make hay on the farm. In the early 1960’s he worked at one of the brick plants in Claysburg for four years and then Interstate Trucking in Bedford until Interstate moved.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Glade Pike, Manns Choice.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from Noon-2:00PM at Trinity United Church of Christ, Glade Pike.
A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, Glade Pike at 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 27th with Pastors Joseph and Cheryl Ward officiating.
Interment at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice.
It is suggested that those in attendance observe the recommendations pertaining to wearing a mask and social distancing.
