Richard A. Benna

Richard A. Benna, 92, of Bedford, formerly of Manns Choice, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Richard was born in Manns Choice on May 14, 1932, son of the late Ralph and Bertha (Hyde) Benna.

On December 15, 1951, he married his wife Mary Grace (Muir) Benna, who preceded him in death on November 7, 2014.

He is survived by daughter- Sharon widow of Wayne Gerney, of Somerset; daughter- Barbara wife of Sam Beard, of Manns Choice; son- Robert husband of Jean (Tew) Benna, of Manns Choice; daughter- Jill wife of Philip Hockycko, of Upper Yoder; daughter- Gail wife of Mark Wertz, of Manns Choice; sister- Pat Seifarth, of MD; brother- Donald husband of Doris (Turner) Benna, of FL; brother- Ted husband of Elda (Mock) Benna, of Jersey Shore; sister- Sue wife of Rick Hahn, of York; along with 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Richard was the longest member of United Church of Schellsburg and the Schellsburg Lions Club. He was passionate about his family and while working at Friendship Village Campground he made many friends and never met a stranger.

He worked at Kelly Springfield, Friendship Village, R: B Furniture and was an Orchard Farmer.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 10-11 AM at United Church of Schellsburg, Schellsburg.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11 AM at United Church of Schellsburg with Pastor Linda Kibler officiating.

Interment will be at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford.
