Robert F. "Turk" Blackburn

Mr. Robert F. "Turk"  Blackburn, 93, of Briar Valley Road, Bedford, passed away Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Mr. Blackburn was born in Bedford on August 3, 1923,  the son of the late William and Carrie (Imler) Blackburn.

On January 8, 1957, he married Audrey D. (Miller) Blackburn.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Skye wife of Daniel May, Bedford; Granddaughter- Brittany wife of Jeremy Bauman, Bedford; Great Grandchildren- Noah, Gabbi & Chase; Sister- Catherine Cessna, Bedford.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother, Richard Blackburn.

Turk was of the Lutheran Faith and served in the US Army.  He was employed at Kennamental in Bedford for over 30 years.  Turk enjoyed hunting and loved baseball, both as a player and a spectator.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.  Turk was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and he will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 with Rev. Raymond Beal officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.
