Roy C. Callihan, 86, of New Paris, went to join his Savior, Jesus and his precious wife, Betty on September 20, 2026. He was born in August 1940, son of the late Paul and Viola (Heidorn) Callihan in Bedford County.

On January 16, 1960, he married his wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Feight), who preceded him in death on March 7, 2022, she was the only true love of his life.

He is survived by his children: Danny (Karen) Callihan, Bob Callihan, Carol (Reon) Oldham and Eleanor Young; his grandchildren: Ben (Sara Biela) Oldham, Derek (Janae) Callihan, Jessica (Chris Howard) Young, Travis (Vanessa) Callihan, Tabitha Young, and Jared (Alexa Whiteside) Callihan; Step grandchildren: Ashley (Dave) Deasey and Shane (Ashley) Finnegan; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Isaiah, Serenity, Leilya, Kataleya, Marilyn, Liam, and Adalyn; Step great-grandchildren: Emily (Bryan), Isaiah, and Chase. Also, survived by his sisters: Bonnie Lambert, Betty Jezeskie, Edith Musselman, and Pat (Bill) Reno. Also, survived by numerous nieces and nephews that were a special part of Roy and Betty’s lives.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his infant daughter- Mary Theresa and his sister- Eleanor Callihan.

In his younger years, Roy worked on various farms in the area. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. In the early 60’s he became an independent logger and enjoyed being in the woofs for a little over 50 years. He said he didn’t work because he loved what he did. Upon retirement, he and Betty traveled even more, seeing 49 states (No Hawaii) and the Holy Land and Egypt. Roy loved the Lord and they went on several work and witness trips and served as delegates to several national church conferences. Any time the church doors were open, Roy was there. Roy was very proud of his children and their families. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren and encouraged them in all their many endeavors.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 4-8 PM and on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, on Route 56, Fishertown, with Pastor Dan Oldham officiating.
