Teresa A. Fochtman, 60, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was surrounded by her children, with the joyful sounds of her six grandchildren playing just outside her bedroom window.
Teresa was born in Bristol on August 30, 1964, daughter of Theresa M. (Hillegas) Fochtman and the late Thomas J. Fochtman. She is survived by daughter- Cristina wife of Eric Bennett, of West Chester; daughter- Melissa wife of Nick Bianco, of Downingtown; son- Andrew Garvey husband of Madison (Reil), of Hatboro; sister- Bernadette Wolfe; brother- Leo (Lizabeth) Fochtman; brother- Edward (Tammy) Fochtman; brother- Frank (Debbie) Fochtman; brother- Lester (Michelle) Fochtman; sister- Linda Parker; sister- Lisa Barbee; along with six grandchildren: Annabelle, Evelyn, Luca, Vista, Rowan, and Remi and many nieces and nephews. Teresa is preceded in death by siblings: Anthony, Janet Lynch, Debbie Keller and infant siblings- Margaret and Richard.
Teresa spent the majority of her life in Levittown, where she was raised in a loving Catholic home alongside her ten siblings. She remained close to her family, later settling in Levittown to raise a family of her own. A tireless and devoted mother, Teresa was deeply rooted in her faith, made countless sacrifices to provide for her children, and instilled in them the values of the Catholic Church, which she cherished throughout her life.
She also held a deep connection to New Baltimore, Pennsylvania, where the Fochtman and Hillegas families have lived for generations. She loved returning to the family farm and attending the annual family reunions, where she could reconnect with loved ones and enjoy the traditions that shaped her.
In 2014, Teresa moved to Chester County following the birth of her first grandchild. Over the next eleven years, she became a beloved and irreplaceable presence in the lives of her grandchildren. She was not only a hands-on caregiver, but also a joyful companion, teacher, and source of unconditional love.
In addition to her faith, Teresa found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid bird watcher, a lover of a good cup of coffee, and a fan of long walks and hikes in nature. She especially enjoyed crafting with her grandchildren - painting kindness rocks, creating art, and making cherished memories around her well-used kitchen table, still marked with paint, glue, and glitter from their many projects together.
More than anything, Teresa loved her family. She treasured time spent with her children, siblings, and grandchildren; right up until her final days.
