Catherine E. “Katie” Bowser, 103, of Bedford was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Pennknoll Village, Snake Spring Twp., PA.
Mrs. Bowser was born in Altoona, PA on September 9, 1918, daughter of the late Harry E. and Edith (Kramer) Imler.
On June 8, 1938 Catherine married Robert C. Bowser. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1973.
She is survived by son- H. Robert “Bob’ husband of Mary (Keagy) Bowser, St. Clarsville; daughter- Linda wife of Galen Snowden, Bedford, daughter-in-law- Joanne Bowser, Alum Bank; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by son- Glenn L. Bowser, sisters- A. Josephine Bender and June E. Deeb.
Mrs. Bowser was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Bedford Springs Chapter #41. She greatly enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting.
Katie was a hard worker and held many jobs over the years and she often told people that working hard is what kept her going. She even kept busy up into her 100’s crocheting prayer shawls and blankets of all sizes for her church charity “Peace Knits”, and for anyone in need of a little extra warmth.
Catherine was truly a blessing to her family and friends for all 103 years, she was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 12-2PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford with a Funeral Service at 2PM with Pastor David Wright officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford Cemetery.
