Charles Jay Cober

Mr. Charles Jay Cober, 88, of Main Road, Bedford went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at home.

Charles was born in Somerset on March 15, 1932,  son of the late Maurice and Effie (Foor) Cober.

On December 11, 1966 in Bedford, PA Charles married the love of his life Ellinor Mae (Moorehead) Cober.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Michael husband of  Kimber (Kelly) Cober, Bedford; Daughter- Christina wife of  John Snyder, Claysburg; Daughter- Jody Howard, Ohio, Grandchildren- Cody, Kyle, Whitney, Hope, Madison, Kyla and David; Great Grandchildren- Austin, Jazmine, and Kayleigh; Sister-in-law- Phyliss Mellot and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Charles was preceded in death by Sister Mary Lou Jones and Brother Robert Cober

He was a member of the United States Airforce from 1954 to 1956. Charles was a Korean War Veteran.

Charles worked for 26 years at Shawnee State Park where he started as a Park Ranger and then ran the water treatment plant. He then went to help in the building of the Walmart Distribution Center. After that he went on to work 15 years at Bedford Walmart as the Door Greeter. He loved seeing all the smiling faces in Bedford.

He was a member of Everett Church of God and also was a greeter for the Lord there.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 2-5PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford  at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2020  with Pastor William Kisner and Assistant Pastor Jonathan Kisner officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
