Daniel T. Cessna

Daniel T. Cessna,  77, of Main Road,  Bedford, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at UPMC Altoona Hospital,  Blair County.

Mr. Cessna was born in Rainsburg on March 15, 1943,  son of the late Chester D. and Cora (Perdew) Cessna.

On November 12, 1966 Dan married Anna Louise  (Hite ) Cessna.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Todd A. husband of  Shannon M. (Rife) Cessna, Ephrata, PA; Son- Troy D. husband of  Sheree M. (Musgrave) Cessna, Leola, PA; 4 Grandchildren Arianna, Austin, Lauren and Leah; Sister- Mary Emma widow of  Harvey Van Derlyn, Brewster, NY; Sister- Nancy wife of  Eric Ritchey, Carlisle; Brother- Ronald widower of  Shelvey Cessna, Mikado, MI; Brother- Richard "Jerry" husband of  Susie Cessna, Rainsburg; Brother- Thomas husband of  Veronica Cessna, Bedford.  He was preceded in death by four brothers:  Bennie Cessna widow Carol who survives of California, Robert Cessna widow Marjorie who survives of Bedford, James Cessna widow Marlene who survives of Everett and William Cessna widow Ruth who survives of Bedford and four sisters:  Ruth Miller, Jane Cessna, Nellie Livengood and Margaret "Peggy" Weaverling.

For 37 years from the time the doors opened until they closed Daniel was employed by Hedstrom of Bedford where he held many different positions there, two of them being a welding foreman and floor manager. He was also employed by Lake Raystown Resort as a Groundskeeper.

Dan served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Marksman Badge Rifle Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was a member of  Yeager Lutheran Church.

Dan was an avid deer and turkey hunter and enjoyed boating at Raystown Lake with his family. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 10-11AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 30th,  with Pastor Jenny Barnes officiating.

It is suggested that those in attendance please observe the recommendations pertaining to wearing a mask and social distancing.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Military Rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
