Faun L Howsare

Faun LaRue Howsare, 79, of Bedford, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona.

Faun was born in Bedford on February 4, 1943, daughter of the late Clifton and Mary (Hall) Whitfield.

She married her husband Richard L. Howsare, on September 18, 1964 in Cumberland, MD.

In addition to her husband she is survived by daughter- Angela wife of Spence Barkman, Snake Spring; son- Rick  husband of Bobbi (Bush) Howsare, of Bedford; son-  David Howsare and Jess, of Johnstown; sister- Dorothy wife of Paul "Smoke" Vensel, of Bedford; granddaughter- Crystal wife of Cory Schiebel, GA.; grandson- Ricky husband of Kim (Tubbs) Howsare, of NC; granddaughter- Maggie wife of Mason Fess, of NY; grandson- Isaac Barkman and fiance Kayla Sphon, of Snake Spring; granddaughter- Asah Barkman, of Snake Spring; brother-in-law- Bobby Karns, of Centerville; sister-in-law- Carol Whitfield, of Schellsburg; along with great-grandchildren- Hudson and Ellie Schiebel; and baby Fess due in April; along with special friends Aiden and Hadley Graffius. Faun is preceded in death by infant daughter- Natalie; sister- Cora "Corkie" Cook; sister- Lyn Karns; sister- Mary "Frankie" Martz; and brother- Charles "Chuck" Whitfield.

Faun attended Crossroads Bible Church and always looked forward to her monthly get together with the "Centerville Girls". She graduated from Bedford High School in 1961. She thoroughly enjoyed any activity that her grandchildren were involved in. Whether it was a vocal performance, dance recital, art show or showing pigs. She went to everything that she was physically able to attend.


She ran a hair salon out of her home for 32 years and became personal friends with her clients. She loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed showing off her flower beds to friends and family and also giving them flowers to plant and enjoy for themselves.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10-11AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 11 AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Dillow officiating.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held on February 4, 2023, at 11 AM at Everett Assembly of God Church: 161 Blackstone Rd. Everett, PA. 15537.

"Faun's greatest desire in life was that every person would have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ."
