George L. Beaner, Sr., 92, of Caroline Road, Alum Bank died on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Mr. Beaner was born in W. St. Clair Twp., PA on February 8, 1928, son of the late Cletus and Rachel Beaner.
On March 4, 1956 George married Shirley (Fritz) Beaner. Together they shared 64 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Randy Beaner, Stillwater; Daughter- Sandy wife of Bob Detwiler, Bedford; Son- George Beaner, Jr., Alum Bank; Daughter- Thelma wife of Caesar Scott, Everett; Son- Cletus husband of Betty Beaner, Alum Bank; Son- Joel husband of Lucy Beaner, New Paris; Sister- Edna Spade, Bedford; Sister- Nancy McClucas, New Paris; Sister- Darlene Alonso, Hope, AR; Sister- Betty Webb, New Paris. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers- Joe, Dave, Arthur and Alan, 3 sisters- Barbara, Mae and Doris, granddaughter Jessica and 3 great-grandchildren- Kea, Lyric and Taylor.
George served in the U.S. Marines as a Pvt. during the Korean War.
He was employed by the former Jansens Feed Mill, Bedford and later worked in the Boiler Room at UPMC for 25 years. He also hauled scrap.
George was a member of Spring Meadow Family Worship Center.
Friends will be received on Monday February 17, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Spring Meadow Family Worship Center, New Paris.
A Funeral Service will be held at Spring Meadow Family Worship Center, New Paris at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 with Pastor Randy Brant officiating.
Interment at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice.
