Glenn "Murph" A. Wertz, 90, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice died Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Mr. Wertz was born in Bedford Twp., on March 5, 1930,  son of the late Ambrose and Cora (Howsare) Wertz.

In addition to his wife Jane M. (Morgret) Wertz, Altoona, he is survived by Daughter- Christina Garnes and significant other Dwight Lamburn, Alum Bank; Daughter- Diana L. widow of  John Dick, Henrietta; Step Daughter- Brenda  R. Alford, Lake Placid; Granddaughter-  Deni; 2 Step-Grandsons Jamie and Michael; 2 Great-grandsons; 7 Step-great grandchildren; 5 Step-great-great grandchildren; Brother- Leroy Wertz, Ellicott City, MD.  Glenn was preceded in death by Son-Theodore W. Wertz, Brothers- Lloyd and Donald Wertz and Sisters-Eleanor, Marian, Patricia, Hilda and Marguerite and former wife Mary Ann (Axmacher) Wertz.

Glenn served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War and was recognized for his dedicated contributions and received an "Ambassador for Peace" medal.

He was a self-employed Carpenter.

Glenn was a member of the Bedford Elks where he was Exalted Ruler 2 times, District Deputy, Tiler and Esquire. He was also Elk Citizen of the year.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Military Rights accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
