Helen Mae (Anderson) Koontz

Helen Mae Koontz, 86, of Koontz Road, Bedford passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, December 18th, 2020 at home.

Mrs. Koontz was born in Bedford Twp. on April 23, 1934,  daughter of the late James L. and Sara (Nave) Anderson.

On January 7, 1951 Helen married Donald L. Koontz. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2002.

She is survived by  Daughter- Janet wife of  Royce Raines, Everett; Daughter- Barbara wife of  Thomas Eschmann, Bedford; Son- James husband of  Carol (Zembower) Koontz, Duncansville; Son- John husband of  Debra (Perrin) Koontz, Everett; Son- David husband of  Jan (Kendall) Koontz, Menden, Utah; Daughter- Kim wife of  Carl Artinger, Maryville, TN; Grandchildren Ed, Susan, Terry, James, Heather, Allen, Doug, Randy, Ashly, Heidi, Nickole, Gemma, Matt, Anya, Ian, Nalani, Eli and Isaac;  Brother- Norman "Mike" Anderson, Bedford; Brother- Robert "Sam" Anderson, Bedford; Sister- Judith Anderson, Hagerstown, MD. She is also survived by 37 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, sister- Mary Peal Bankes and brother- John William Anderson

She was a member of  St. James Lutheran Church Bedford.

Helen was a member of the Bedford American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed needle point and spending time with her family and grandkids. Helen also had a great love for decorating for Christmas. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private viewing and funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

Interment at  St. James Cemetery, Bedford.
