Maribel J. (Mowry) Zimmerman

March 24, 1922 — November 11, 2021

Bedford

Maribel J. Zimmerman, 99, of S. Anderson Street,  Bedford, died Thursday, November 11, 2021 at home.

Mrs. Zimmerman was born in Bedford, PA on March 24, 1922,  daughter of the late Ross and Elva (Risbon) Mowry.

On April 12, 1951 she married Andrew M. Zimmerman. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2003.

She is survived by  Son- Michael A. Zimmerman, Bedford; Daughter- Nancy A. wife of  Max Shoemaker, Bedford; Son- Craig A. husband of  Diane (Burket) Zimmerman, Bedford; Grandchildren Casey Shoemaker, Chad husband of Meggie Shoemaker and Mollie wife of Bobby Turkovich; Great-grandchildren Will and Max Turkovich and Archie Shoemaker, Brother-in-law- Robert Zimmerman and numerous nieces and nephews and her four legged friend LuLu.  Maribel was preceded in death by brother John Mowry and sister Betty Ressler.

Maribel served her country in the US Women's Army Corp.

She worked at Bedford Springs a as Housekeeping attendant.

Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of  St. John's UCC Bedford and over the years she greatly enjoyed her visits with her church friends.

Maribel loved time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandsons. She never missed an event her children or grandchildren were involved in. She enjoyed going to the beach with her family. Maribel greatly enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Maribel was an amazing and loving lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford with Pastor Brady Plummer officiating.
Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
