Melissa Mae (Scritchfield) Feight

May 17, 1936 — October 9, 2019

Melissa Mae (Scritchfield) Feight was born to Ruth Scritchfield on May 17, 1936. She was the oldest of six. She is survived by sister Joy married to Jerry, and brothers Blaine married to Betty, and Richard. She was preceded in death by her mother, brother Walter, and sister Carol.

On March 22, 1954 she married the late Richard Blair Feight. Together they had three children Richard, married to Keala of Baltimore, Maryland, Wanda formerly married to Don Boone of Bedford, Pa, and Bradley formerly married to Kim of Baltimore, Md.

Melissa had 12 grandchildren, Martise, Natalie, Katie, and Richard; Melissa, Jonathan, Camilla, Billy, and Rebecca; Jake, Lyla, and Eli.

She had 26 great grandchildren with one on the way.

Melissa loved God and her family. She was a devout Christian of 43 years and loved sharing the gospel every chance she had. Melissa lived a good life. At 9 years old, due to an illness, she went to live with her Aunt Midge. She enjoyed sharing stories of her childhood many of which included her cousin Norma Zembower who was like a sister to her. She loved her family so much that even in her dying days she was more concerned that each one of her loved ones knew Jesus as their savior.

Melissa spent the last 5 years of her life living with her son in law Donald under the care of her grandaughter Camilla. They had a very special relationship that will always be cherished. During this time she became especially close to her grandchildren Madison, Savanna, and Pj and to Camillas husband Patrick. Her last few years spent with them were spent with many laughs and memories made.

The family would like to thank Village in Place hospice for the care they provided for Melissa. Dr. Donahue, Mandy, Robert, Erica, Brie, and Ron helped the family provide the best care possible for Melissa and we are eternally grateful for these professionals that have become family.

Friends will be received on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6-8PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
