Melvin L. Ward

Melvin L Ward, 83, of Lincoln Drive, Bedford died Saturday, July 18, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Ward was born in Clearville on June 20, 1937, son of the late Earl and Ethel (Robinette) Ward.

On September 16, 1961 Melvin married Carrie Louise (Heming)  Ward. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2015.

He is survived by  Daughter- Barbara L. wife of  David Himmler, Bedford; Son- David L. husband of  Kimberly (Tobin) Ward, Hagerstown, MD; Grandchildren Justin, Kristie, Brendon, Bray, Kayla and Tyler.  Melvin was preceded in death by sister- Marie Mearkle

He retired after 30 years at Westinghouse where he was a  Machine Operator.

Melvin was a member of Pleasant Hill Bible Church, Bedford.

He enjoyed farming, hunting, mowing grass, plowing snow and spending time with grandkids. Melvin was a great father and grandfather and his faith and family were the most important things in his life. He will be greatly missed by all.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
