Ray E. Fisher, 89, of S. Richard Street, Bedford passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, with family by his side at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Somerset County, PA.

Mr. Fisher was born on January 27, 1932, in Roaring Spring, PA, son of the late Barnard and Fannie (Steele) Fisher. Ray was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

On April 16, 1955, Ray married Shirley A. (Foster) Fisher.

Along with his wife Ray is survived by daughter- Janice wife of Richard Reisling, Bedford; grandchildren- Dustin Reisling and fiancé Stephanie Kegg, Laurie Deasey and Richard "Lee" husband of Cena (Mussleman) Reisling and great grandchildren- Jordan, Seth, Autumn, Morgan and Mason all of Bedford. Ray was preceded in death by brothers- Fred, Edwin, Clyde and Glenn Fisher and sister- Sarah Davis.

Mr. Fisher served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Ray worked as a bartender at various locations he also worked as a Manager at Holiday Inn, Breezewood he then retired from Kennametal where he worked as security. After retirement he worked part-time for the Bedford Gazette.

Ray was a loving husband and took care of his wife Shirley. He never told her "No". He was a hard-working, kind-hearted loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great joy.

Ray had a bubbly personality and a smile that would light up any room. He enjoyed golfing and spending time gardening in he and Shirley's flower beds. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ray was well known by many for his artwork.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 4-8PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, at 11:00AM with Pastor Martin Wickens officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Military Rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
