Robert P. Murphy, 70, of New Baltimore died on April 11, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 11, 1952 at Bedford Hospital, son of Carl and Helen (Leonard) Murphy.  He was proceded in death by his parents, brothers Eugene Albright, Tom Murphy, Tim Murphy and sister Shirley Mae Murphy.

Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bonnie (Adams); children Mandy Lauer (Eric) and Matthew Murphy (Jen); grandchildren: Peyton, Riley, Regan and Lydia.  He is also survived by his brothers Glenn (Dianne) and Larry and many nieces and nephews.

Robert graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School in 1971.  He was then employed by Crane Company, Hysota Fuel Mining Company, SDC Building Center and Gary Weimer Contracting.

Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore where he served on Church Council, helped with Lenten Fish Fries and helped with community events.  He was a Charter Member of the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the New Baltimore Sportsmen's Club, Mountain Field & Stream and The Poker Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  He often could be found in his garage working on a project or chatting with a friend or neighbor. Above all he loved being with his family.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 2pm-8pm at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg where a Vigil for the deceased will be held.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore at 11am with Father Mark Pattock-Celebrant.

Internment at St. John's Cemetery, New Baltimore.
