Thomas “Tom” M. Wambaugh Sr., 89, of Buffalo Mills, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin.
Tom was born in New Baltimore on September 25, 1933, son of the late Edward and Margaret (Suhrie) Wambaugh.
On November 10, 1953, he married his wife Ann L. (Mowry) who preceded him in death on October 13, 2014.
He is survived by son- Thomas M. Wambaugh Jr. husband of Janet (Radisi), of Uniontown; son- Anthony P. husband of Deborah (Wambaugh), of Buffalo Mills; son- Michael R. husband of Mila (Maskovsky), of Allentown; grandchildren: Virginia, Angela, Sarah, Michael, Kelley, Erin and Naiya; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by brothers: James E. “Poodle” Wambaugh, Kenneth J. Wambaugh, infant brother, and sisters: Rita Miller and Loretta Domen.
Tom was affiliated with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, and the Bedford American Legion. He served his Country in the United States Army, during the Korean War.
Tom always loved living life and raised three boys in a respectful, responsible and loving way. He was the consummate husband and family man, a soldier, engineer, softball playing, horseshoe pitching, farm raised, support scouting, station wagon camping National Park vacationing guy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Mickle Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St. John The Baptist Church with Father Mark Pattock- Celebrant.
Committal Services will be at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.
Military rites accorded to the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
